Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about buying and listing move-in ready homes on Built and Ready Homes.

For buyers

What is a spec or inventory home? +

A spec home is a brand-new home a builder has already completed (or nearly completed) without a specific buyer. It is move-in ready, so there is no long build wait.

Is it free to browse? +

Yes — browsing listings and contacting builders is completely free for home shoppers.

How do I contact a builder about a home? +

Open any listing and use the “Contact the sales team” panel to send your details. Your message goes straight to the builder’s sales team for that home.

Are the homes really move-in ready? +

Every listing on Built and Ready Homes is finished inventory. Some may be in a short closing window, but none are “to be built” — you can tour and buy what you see.

For builders

How do I list my homes? +

Create a free builder account, then add your finished inventory from your dashboard in a few minutes. See the For Builders page to get started.

How much does it cost? +

It’s free to create an account and publish your first listings. We’ll share details on premium placement options as they roll out.

Where do buyer inquiries go? +

Inquiries are tied to the listing and surfaced in your dashboard, and can be routed to the sales contact you assign to each home.

General

Does Built and Ready Homes sell the homes? +

No. Built and Ready Homes is a marketplace that connects Canadian home shoppers directly with the builder or their sales team, who handle the sale.

Which areas do you cover? +

We’re growing across Canada — starting in Ontario — and add new regions as more builders join.

Still have a question?

We’re happy to help you find the right move-in ready home or get your inventory listed.
